Shall start off with day 0 of my expedition, which was on 11th March. Went with ODAC for the National Vertical Marathon (NVM) 2006 competition, which was held at suntect city tower 4. Climbed a total of 43 storeys which equals to 69 storeys of HDB block? Did within a time of approximately 7+ to 8 mins. Not good at all, with many others doing a 6+ climb. Well, quite satisfied with my performance, as the team i'm in, CJC team 7 came in 10th position for a total time of 40 mins. Some information about NVM: Each team consists of 5 people, at least 2 girls and they take the total timing for the team. As defending champions, we had to perform up to the expectations and we did that. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 10th. However, only the top 5 teams have got medals. Congrats to NYJC ODAC team 1, coming in 4th position. Well, after the whole thing, we had a quick dinner and left for Marsiling mrt station to meet up with the rest. Was rather exhausted but still pushed on. As usual, walked with full backpack across the causeway to the train station, to wait for train that brought us to Segamat. Ok, the train came late, as usual. By the way, my expedition group, group 5 rox; with Ian, Wyna, Valarie, Algae(Benjamin), Steph, Gerath, and Carmen. Finally understood how lame can Ian get!
Did some bonding game at the train station before some of them rested after a long day. The train's air-con was super cold and we were like shivering, as we were wearing shorts and t-shirt. Cannot tahan, i took out my jacket and many others did the same thing. When i helped Yuxuan take out her jacket, that medic kit of her slid and hit aaron's stomach (who was sitting beside me). Aaron was sleeping until he being touched by the medic kit, he was so funny that he woke up and asked:" Hur??" and he looked around blurly. Managed to catch some sleep on the train and at Segamat train station. Continued on with the day with 1 1/2 prata, teh tarik and climbed to Gunung Ophir. The twin waterfall rox! and the water was freezing cold. Had a lot of fun at the waterfall, took photos. Unforgettable and priceless experience. Reached the campsite and the best i've gone to so far. There was an entertainment section at night and groups had to perform. Of course, there were lots of funny things and surely, so gayness! haha. Then, SLEEP! WoAHo
Day 2:
Woke up early and climbed up to the summit. It was pure OWNAGE! Spectacular view though scorching hot by the sun. Descended to the base camp, picked up our backpacks and descended. Unluckily, Yuxuan had sprained her ankle. Waited for her at the lower waterfall:Putri waterfall before going into the waterfall. Again, icy cold water. Came up and we were freezing, seriously. Yup, slept at the carpark after a long talk.
Day 3:
Again, had prata and tarik before leaving for Gunung Datok by chartered buses. Ascended and descended Datok then did push ups on the burning hot road. Went on to climb Lambak then headed towards Mersing. Had dinner at Mersing and the food there rox!(Think that we were so hungry that any food tasted good). A long and seriously long talk before leaving for the jetty without any sleep.
Day 4:
Took a boat to Tioman and managed to catch some sleep on the boat. Reached there, deposited our bags in a chalet room and went to the maritime museum and learnt quite some things. Jetty jump was such an unforgettable experience and so stupidily injured myself before the royal rumble that i couldn't take part in it. Anyway, went to swim with the fishes, snorkeling and found many sea cucumbers at the shallow waters. Bought dinner at the restaurant and the food was seriously nice. Then, fell asleep as Mr lim was teaching about some astro stuff. Managed to catch a few hrs of sleep before going on a night hike.
Day 5:
Walked till the other side of tioman island, through the forest and some step slope, seriously steep of at least 50 degrees. Watched sunrise then trekked back. Walked all the way to the beach resort which was at the end, passed the airport and back all the way to our chalet. Covered at least 3/4 the length of the coastline of 1 side. Headed for home!
Post XP:
Came back, was so tired that i didn't return to sch the next day after sleeping at 3am that day. Managed to rush through some homework, but not all. Until now, i'm struggling with my work, unable to settle down and i'm having a difficult time. Anyway, I'll try to pick up fast and wait for me pple! Anyway, i better return to do my work and revise or else i'm gonna get killed by many people. Shall update soon!
